IP Finance reported news from Patyellow website for a proposal from the South Korean Presidential Councial on National Competitiveness for determining the budget of 400 million dollars to be spent by 2013 for the development, management and protection of objects of intellectual property.
The plans provide for programs to encourage research institutes and universities in South Korea to develop and manage their intellectual property by creating technology holdings for the purpose.
This is not a single initiative for Asia. Other countries in the region such as Taiwan also launched a strategy on intellectual property.
This can be regarded as the beginning of a new qualitative development of Asian countries.
