The European Commission published a report entitled Study on Trade Secrets and Parasitic Copying (Look-alikes) MARKT/2010/20/D, prepared by one og the largest law firm Hogan Lovells.
The report summarizes the practice refers to situations where a product is offered for sale in a packaging which resembles an already existing branded product, influencing consumer behaviour to its benefit, without infringing any intellectual property rights such as trade marks, design rights or copyright.
