Ново съдебно дело относно Аватар - A new lawsuit concerning Avatar

Известният британски артист  Roger Dean заведе ново съдебно дело в Ню Йорк срещу James Cameron и продуцентите от FOX относно нарушаване на авторски права във връзка с филма Аватар.
Dean изказва претенции за това, че Cameron е използвал негови произведения при създаването на филма Аватар и по-конкретно формата на някой от дърветата във филма ( дървото Дом и дървото на Живота), както и плаващите острови.

Сходни образни елементи се съдържат в по-ранни художествени произведения на Dean. Търсеното обезщетение за това нарушение е 50 милиона долара.

Това е поредното съдебно дело касаещо филма Аватар. До момента общите обезщетения са на стойност 2,8 милиарда долара.

The renowned British artist Roger Dean brought a new lawsuit in New York against James Cameron and  FOX concerning copyright infringement in connection with the movie Avatar.
Dean expresses his claims that Cameron has used his works in creating the movie Avatar and in particular the form of some of the trees in the film ( The Home tree and the Tree of life) and floating Islands. Similar images are contained in earlier artwork of Dean. He seeks compensation for copyright breach of 50 million dollars.
This is another lawsuit concerning the Avatar. So far the total amount for damages is $ 2.8 billion.

Class 99 съобщава за промени в законодателството касаещо промишления дизайн в Малайзия.
Част от промените засягат максималния срок на закрила на дизайна в страната, който става 25 години. Друга съществена промяна е критерия за новост, който се променя от изискване за национална новост на такова за световна новост на заявените дизайни.

Class 99 reported for changes in legislation concerning the industrial design in Malaysia.
Some of the changes affect the maximum term of design protection in the country, which becomes 25 years. Another significant change is about the criteria of novelty, which is altered from a requirement for a national novelty to requirement for a world novelty of the claimed design.

Хърватска, ЕС и интелектуалната собственост - Croatia, EU and intellectual property

Хърватска вече официално е 28 страна членка на Европейския съюз. Освен добре дошли, трябва да кажем и че цялото законодателство на ЕС относно правата на интелектуална собственост вече важи и на територията на Хърватска, включително и търговските марки и дизайни на Общността.
С оглед на това всички притежатели на ИП права трябва да имат предвид и Хърватска при изграждането на стратегиите си за управление и защита на интелектуалната си собственост.

Croatia is now officially the 28th member state of the European Union. Besides welcome, We should also say that all EU legislation on intellectual property rights already applies to the territory of Croatia, including Community trademarks and  designs.
To this end, all holders of IP rights should take into account Croatia in building their strategies for management and protection of intellectual property.

Нова форма на сертификата за международна регистрация на марки - New Layout of Certificates of International Registration of trademarks

WIPO съобщава за въвеждането на нов формат на образеца на сертификата за международна регистрация на марки. Промените влизат в сила от 04.07.2013.
Промените засягат най-общо следното:
- на първо място в сертификата ще бъде показвана марката;
- след това ще се предоставя информация за номер на регистрация, дата, дата на заплащане на такса за подновяване на регистрацията, данни на притежателя, класове стоки и услуги и др.

WIPO has reported the introduction of a new layout of the certificate of international registration of trademarks. Changes take effect on 04.07.2013.
Changes affecting generally the following:
- Firstly, the trademark will be displayed in the certificate;
- Then it will be given information about the registration number, date, date of payment for the renewa, information for the holder, the classes of goods and services and so on.
